MARKETING

Okay, you've self-published your book.

However, the most important steps to get your book out to your readers is your own personal SELF-MARKETING.

Read the following books:

* 1001 Ways to Market Your Books by John Kremer

* The Complete Guide to Self-Publishing by Tom & Marilyn Ross

Your self-publisher can and will do only so much and it is left up to you to do the volume of the hard work of marketing. Lay out a plan to:

*  Speak to any group that will listen.

*  Make phone calls to newspapers, radio and TV stations.

*  Do readings and book signings at libraries, book stores,

    schools and campuses.

*  Keep on hand (everywhere you go) fliers, bookmarks and buiness

    and cards.

*  Stock the trunk of your car and your briefcases with your

    book(s).

*  Tell everyone you meet or greet (from parking lots to elevators)

    about your book.

*  Be a walking talking marketing maven.

A survey conducted by BookExpo America, Publisher's Weekly and information from booksellers themselves have found the two most valuable strategies for selling a new title:

* Author's tour (this is a very expensive way to go.)

* Providing advance reading copies (providing 50 to100 free copies

to stores is the most affordable route.)

If you keep on keeping on, as noted above -- never quiting -- never saying no -- you will be a sucessfully published very successful author.

CONGRATULATIONS!
